Looking for more evidence that the iPad Pro can be used to create stunning artwork? The cover of the latest issue of The New Yorker might be just the proof you’re searching for.

Created by the magazine’s long-time art editor Jorge Colombo, it depicts kids playing basketball near to his home in Brooklyn. “This was a risky drawing to make,” he said. “I kept worrying that the ball would hit me or the iPad.” Not that he let that stop him from creating a stunning image!

“It’s one of my favorite places to hang out,” Jorge Colombo said. “I live down the street, in Brooklyn Heights, so I go there all the time, either to take the East River Ferry or just to relax by the water. It is a magnet—people come from all of Brooklyn’s many neighborhoods just to take a selfie by the waterfront or picnic by the water.”

This isn’t the first time Colombo has created art using an Apple device for the New Yorker. Earlier this year, Colombo employed his trusty 12.9-inch iPad Pro, Apple Pencil and the app Procreate to create a memorable image of the Staten Island ferry.

His first iOS creation, meanwhile, traces all the way back to 2009 when he used his iPhone and the app Brushes to paint a late-night scene in Manhattan.
