Apple iOS 11.4.1 has landed and my upgrade guide explains its best features and changes. That said, it isn’t without flaws and following a complex security breach, a far more fundamental and frustrating problem has emerged…
A growing number of iPhone and iPad owners report that after upgrading to iOS 11.4.1 they can no longer update any apps from the App Store. Several users have also contacted me about this directly and it has also been reported to the eagle-eyed bloggers at PiunikaWeb.
Twitter user Suhail Ahamed sums up the problem:
“after updating to #IOS 11.4.1 there seems to be a problem with app updates. App store shows so many apps to be updated, but when press ‘update‘ or ‘update all’ the apps are not getting updated.” - source
And this is being replicated over and over:
“Today I updated my iOS for 11.4.1 & facing some serious problem with the Apple App Store. Whenever I tried searching for any app in the store. It generates a message stating ‘can't connect to app store’. Please need immediate assistance.” - source
“I am using an iPad mini 4 running iOS 11.4.1. When I try to search for an app in the AppStore I get a message ‘Cannot connect to App Store’ with a retry button. When I try same on my iPhone 6 running 11.4.1 get a non-stop spinning gear to the right of wifi meter.”
