Residents of the Russian city of Vladimir, 26-year-old twin brothers Alexander and Ilya Tunchiki, filed a pre-trial claim to the Russian representative office of Apple, demanding compensation in the amount of 20 million rubles due to the inappropriate work of Face ID.


The Thunchi brothers purchased two identical iPhone Xs during their trip to Miami. Afterwards, they found that both phones did not share the individual characteristics of the faces of the Thunks and confused the owners of smartphones.

In their statement, they expressed their dissatisfaction with the fact that the Face ID recognition system on their smartphones does not work correctly. The applicants are asking the company to improve the technology, as well as to compensate for moral damage in the amount of 20 million rubles. If Apple does not satisfy the claim, the brothers want to go to court.


Recall, sales of the iPhone X began in Russia and the US in November 2017.Announced in September 2017, iPhoneX became the first Apple smartphone with a frameless screen and support for Face ID. The technology Face ID, according to the plan of the developers of Apple, should supplant the function of Touch ID. In new iPhone models, including the iPhone X, there is already no "Home" button.
