Apple Promotes the Newly Launched Genmoji in A Fun New iPhone 16 Ad

Apple on Wednesday released iOS 18.2 to the public, and the update brings many more Apple Intelligence features to iPhone and iPad, including Image Playground, Genmoji and ChatGPT integrated into Siri. Genmoji is undoubtedly one of the most fun features of the update, and Apple is already promoting it in a new iPhone 16 ad.

New ad shows the possibilities of Genmoji you can create

Called “Imagine it. Genmoji it,” the ad shows multiple Genmojis to demonstrate the possibilities of the feature. For those unfamiliar, Genmoji (for Generated Emojis) is the name given to the feature that creates new emojis based on prompts entered by the user. The feature relies on Apple Intelligence language models and transforms text into images – or in this case, emoji.

“Now you can create unique Genmojis, right in Messages. Just describe the Genmoji you want to create, then add it to your conversation,” the ad description reads.

Users can create Genmoji through the Messages app or any other app that has already added support for the feature. All you have to do is open the system’s emoji selector and tap the button to create a new emoji, then describe what you want to create, such as an emoji of a dog wearing Christmas clothes. You can try basically anything.

Genmojis are generated on-device, which means they only work on iPhones and iPads compatible with Apple Intelligence. More specifically, we’re talking about the iPhone 15 Pro and later or iPads with the M1 chip or later (it also works with the latest iPad mini). Apple says a future macOS update will bring the option to create Genmojis to the Mac.

Update your iPhone or iPad by going to Settings > General > Software Update. And even if you don’t have an Apple Intelligence-compatible device, iOS 18.2 also adds some other new features.
