Apple is preparing to launch a trio of new iPads alongside a new red coloured iPhone 7 and a 128gb iPhone SE at a surprise March event, it has been claimed.
The move would be the first major overhaul of Apple's iPad Pro line, and would replace the aging iPad mini with a new 7.9inch iPad Pro.
It could also see the release of a new 10.5inch model that features an edge to edge display and no home button - paving the way for the iPhone 8 expected to be revealed in September.
Mac Otakara said the 10.9-inch iPad Pro—it now says 10.5-inch—will have the same overall footprint as the current 9.7-inch iPad Pro thanks to its edge-to-edge design.
The earlier report said the top bezel will remain in order to provide space for the front-facing FaceTime camera, but it will likely be slimmer.
The new 7.9-inch iPad Pro will feature a Smart Connector, True Tone display, four speakers, and a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera, giving all the Pro models similar capabilities.
In October, reports suggested that Apple would be launching its three new iPad devices in March 2017.
Apple will be releasing 7.9-, 9.7- and 10.1-inch models.
But rumours from an unnamed source speaking to DigiTimes, suggest that these new products are 'still in planning.'
All three of the new iPad Pro models are expected to be equipped with quad microphones and will retain the 3.5mm headphone jack, reports Japanese tech site Mac Otakara.
Apple controversially dropped the traditional headphone port from its new iPhone 7 and 7 Plus handsets which it unveiled last year.
