Apple today announced that the company had reached an agreement with the China Unionpay and that the service of Apple Pay would come out in China as soon as the next year. After finishing a series of related testing and authentication, the Apple can release the particular service officially to all the holders of China Unionpay bank cards (credit cards and debit cards)in China, but this service could be available as soon as the spring of 2016.
Apple has reached the cooperative agreement with China Unionpay and 15 major banks in China, for example, China Bank, Agricultural Bank of China, CCB (China Construction Bank), ICBC(Industrial and Commercial Bank of China) and etc, and all of them have signed the agreements to support Apply Pay in China, said Eddy Cue, Apple's senior vice president of Internet Software and Services.
In detail, iPhone, iPhone Plus 6 s, 6 s iPhone 6 and iPhone Plus can support the Apple Pay as the users go shopping in supermarkets, shopping malls and etc. While using Apply pay, the iPhone user doesn't need to start the app or unlock the phone screen, but keeps the iPhone close to the POS terminal which supports China Unionpay’s “quick pass” payment via NFC and at the same time taps the Touch ID in order to finish the payment.
What’s more, Apple watch can also support the Apple Pay, and it’s just required to press the button on the side two times during the payment process and to bring the watch screen close to the non-contact card reader.
Security is crucial to the Apple Pay. The real card number can never be recorded on the device or Apple’s server when the user is adding a credit card or a debit card. The system will set a particular device account, encrypt it, and then store it into the device’s security chipset. Each deal can be authorized by the sole active security code.
