iTunes Won’t Arrive on Windows Store by 2017

Windows 10 users hoping for some love from Apple by the end of the year are in for a dose of disappointment.

Apple says it won’t be bringing iTunes to the Windows Store this year. The move comes after Microsoft announced in May that iTunes would be supported on Windows 10 S machines by the end of 2017.

“We have been working with Microsoft to deliver the full iTunes experience to our customers and we need a little more time to get it right,” said an Apple spokesperson via an emailed statement to ZDNET.

Apple is allegedly still planning to put iTunes in Microsft’s version of the App Store for Windows PCs. Windows 10 users can still install iTunes via the Apple website. The move is bad news for Windows 10 S users though who can only install software directly from the Windows Store.

There’s currently no timeline on when Apple plans to bring iTunes to the Windows Store.
