Apple’s most affordable 13-inch MacBook Pro has been discontinued.
The 2015 model has held onto its place on the Apple online store as a more affordable alternative to more recent MacBook Pros, but you’ll have to buy one of the company’s latest notebooks if you want to stick with a 13-inch display.
After introducing us to its redesigned MacBook Pro, which is slimmer and lighter than previous models, Apple held onto the 2015 MacBook Pro series. Not only was it cheaper, but it offered traditional USB ports, an SD card slot, and more for those who needed it.
But the 2015 13-inch MacBook Pro is no longer available from Apple. Unless you can manage a larger display (the 2015 15-inch MacBook Pro is still available for now), you’ll have to fork out for one of the latest 13-inch units unveiled at WWDC on Monday.
Those new models come with Intel’s latest Kaby Lake processors and start at $1,299 with function keys. If you want the fancy Touch Bar, prices start at $1,799.
You should still be able to purchase 2015’s 13-inch MacBook Pro from third-party retailers until supplies are depleted, but the longer you wait, the more difficult it will be to get your hands on a brand new model.
