If you’re a fan of speed tests, then the latest video will be right up your alley, as the iPhone7 Plus  goes up against the Google Pixel.

In Google’s efforts to control both hardware and software, in the same way that Apple does, the company launched the Google Pixel and the Google Pixel XL.  So obviously people will want to see what that means for real world customers, using both third- and first-party apps, and showing the latest results from GeekBench 3.

For comparison’s sake, SuperSaf TV put the Pixel with its 5-inch 1080p HD display up against the iPhone 7 Plus and its 5.5-inch 1080p HD display. Both devices feature four-cour processors, with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 in the Pixel, and Apple’s own A10 Fusion in the iPhone 7 Plus. Finally, it’s worth noting that the Pixel is equipped with 4GB of RAM, while the iPhone 7 Plus is outfitted with 3GB of RAM.

To start, those GeekBench 3 results. As shown off in the video, the Pixel earned a single-core score of 1565, and a multi-core score of 4103. To compare, the iPhone 7 Plus earned a single-core score of 3488, and the multi-core score came back at 5590. In both instances Apple’s smartphone came out with the win.

SuperSaf TV also tested how fast it is to launch the camera in both devices. For the Google Pixel, a quick double-press of the Standby button will launch the camera app directly. Meanwhile, the fastest way to activate the camera with the iPhone 7 Plus is to activate the display (either by simply lifting it up, or pressing the Standby/Power button), and then sliding the lock screen to the left. The results show that, while a minimal difference is present, the Pixel does indeed get the user to the camera faster.

And then to the speed test itself, where SuperSaf TV loaded up a variety of different first- and third-party apps. That included less intensive titles, like a calculator app, the stock browser, and others. It went on to include apps like Instagram, YouTube, and then went into more intensive apps like games, including Angry Birds 2 and Subway Surfers.

The test shows that while loading up pretty straightforward apps, the less-intensive options, there isn’t much of a difference between the Pixel and the iPhone 7 Plus. However, when getting into the more intensive options, like games, the iPhone 7 Plus comes out on top, and stays there, showing more solid performance as the test goes on.

In the end, in this test, it appears that the iPhone 7 Plus comes out on top, with the camera test going to the Pixel.
