Apple has reportedly increased its iPhone Duo orders by 30% as it prepares to launch its first foldable iPhone, suggesting stronger-than-expected demand ahead of pre-orders.
According to China's Securities Times, Apple has raised its supply-chain orders for the iPhone Duo by 30%. Despite the increase, the total number of units planned for the remainder of 2026 is still expected to remain below 10 million.
The reported adjustment suggests Apple may be anticipating stronger demand for its foldable device than initially expected. However, the figures have not been officially confirmed by Apple, and increased orders alone do not guarantee higher sales.
The iPhone Duo is scheduled to open for pre-orders on October 16, 2026, with availability beginning October 23.
The same report indicates that Apple has also adjusted orders for its iPhone 18 Pro lineup. Orders for the iPhone 18 Pro Max reportedly increased by 10% to 15%, while orders for the iPhone 18 Pro decreased by a similar percentage.
Despite these changes, the combined supply target for the two Pro models reportedly remains unchanged. The figures may reflect adjustments in the expected product mix rather than a change in overall production plans.
The reported increase in iPhone Duo orders highlights the market's interest in Apple's entry into the foldable smartphone segment. However, actual demand will become clearer after pre-orders open and the device reaches consumers.
For buyers considering a new iPhone, the iPhone Duo adds another option to Apple's lineup. Comparing device specifications, storage options, and long-term usability can help users decide whether a foldable model or a traditional iPhone better suits their needs.
