Beats 360 Launch Could Be Near as Apple Releases New Firmware

Apple has released a new firmware update for its upcoming Beats 360 headphones, adding to growing evidence that the new over-ear headphones could be officially announced soon.

The new 4A203 firmware is now available for the Beats 360, even though Apple has yet to officially announce the headphones. With the product appearing in regulatory databases, retail listings, and athlete teasers in recent months, a September launch now appears increasingly likely.

Beats 360 Launch Could Be Coming Soon

The Beats 360 have already surfaced in multiple regulatory databases and retail listings, providing several clues about Apple's upcoming headphones.

The headphones were also spotted being worn by soccer players including Lamine Yamal and Antonee Robinson around the 2026 FIFA World Cup, giving the product an unusual early public appearance.

MacRumors first reported the Beats 360 name after the headphones appeared in Amazon and other retailer listings. Although some of those listings have since been removed, they revealed several details about the upcoming product.

Beats 360 Colors and Customization Options

The Beats 360 are expected to launch in at least four main colors:

  ●Black

  ●Cloud

  ●Sky

  ●Pink

Apple is also reportedly planning interchangeable Performance Knit and UltraPlush cushions and headbands.

These accessories will be available in the four main colors, along with additional options such as Volt and Navy, allowing users to customize the appearance of their headphones.

AirPods Max-Like Design With Improved Comfort

The Beats 360 design reportedly shares some similarities with the AirPods Max, particularly around the headband.

The headphones feature telescoping headband arms that smoothly extend and remain in position, allowing users to adjust the fit.

The Beats 360 are also expected to feature a fold-flat design, making them easier to store and carry when traveling.

Up to 1.75× More Noise Cancellation

According to information found in a retail listing, the Beats 360 could offer up to 1.75× more noise cancellation than the Beats Studio Pro, which launched in 2023.

If accurate, this would represent a significant improvement in active noise cancellation and could make the Beats 360 a more direct competitor to premium over-ear headphones from Apple and other manufacturers.

Beats 360 Could Be Apple's First Water-Resistant Over-Ear Headphones

One of the most notable features could be the headphones' durability.

The Beats 360 are reportedly Apple's first sweat-resistant and water-resistant over-ear headphones, with an IPX4 rating.

This could make them better suited for workouts and outdoor use than traditional over-ear headphones, although an IPX4 rating does not mean the headphones are fully waterproof.

Hands-Free Siri Support

The Beats 360 are also expected to support hands-free Siri.

According to code discovered by MacRumors contributor Aaron Perris, users will reportedly be able to activate Siri by saying "Hey Siri" or simply "Siri."

The headphones are also expected to feature an all-day battery, a high-fidelity acoustic platform, and other features designed for everyday listening.

What's Included With Beats 360?

The Beats 360 are expected to come with:

  ●Interchangeable Performance Knit ear cushions

  ●Woven ripstop fabric carrying case

  ●Fold-flat headphone design

However, customers may need to purchase their own USB-C charging cable and power adapter, as these are reportedly not included in the box.

Beats 360 Price Could Be $299.99

One retail listing reportedly showed a U.S. price of $299.99 for the Beats 360.

Apple has not confirmed the price, so the figure should be treated as unverified for now.

For comparison, the Beats Studio Pro has a regular price of $349.99, meaning the Beats 360 could potentially launch at a lower price while offering newer hardware and features.

Beats 360 Release Date

Apple has not announced an official Beats 360 release date yet.

However, the combination of the new firmware update, regulatory filings, retail listings, and sightings of athletes wearing the headphones strongly suggests that the launch could be approaching.

With all of these signs pointing in the same direction, a September announcement appears increasingly likely.
