The 2025 lineup for Apple TV+ is starting to come into focus, and the latest revealed project is an Indiana Jones-inspired film starring John Krasinski and Natalie Portman. Here are the details on Fountain of Youth.
Earlier this year, it was announced that Apple Original Films had landed the next big movie from director Guy Ritchie.
It’s called Fountain of Youth and stars John Krasinski and Natalie Portman in the lead roles.
Now, thanks to an Entertainment Weekly preview, we’re getting more details on the upcoming Apple TV+ film.
Director Ritchie told ET the film is ‘in the vein of Indiana Jones but contemporary.’ The two stars play estranged siblings ‘who partner on a global heist to find the mythical spring.’
“They both come from a background of archeological endeavors in terms of finding archeological artifacts, so there’s a history there,” Ritchie notes. “They are estranged, but they find an alibi as to why they need to unify to find this particular treasure.”
So yes, it sounds very, very much like an Indiana Jones film.
It looks like one too, as the first public images for Fountain of Youth reveal.
Apple has not yet announced a release date for the film, or specifics around a theatrical strategy.
However, don’t be surprised if Fountain of Youth goes straight to streaming with an Apple TV+ debut, like Wolfs and Blitz did recently and The Gorge will in early 2025.
Not long ago, it was reported that Apple would be shifting its movie strategy to minimize theatrical releases. The one big exception that we know of now is the forthcoming F1 film starring Brad Pitt, which will get a major theatrical push from Apple.
