Although Saurik is still working on a Cydia update, Coolstar is making strides on the scene with Electra. Here’s the latest addition to Coolstar’s infamous iOS 11 development toolkit.
Electra's future betas to come with Cydia
Coolstar will package Cydia installer with the upcoming versions of Electra jailbreak toolkit.
This move comes at a time when Saurik is still purportedly busy with Substrate and is yet to give a status update.
Here’s what the talented young iOS developer posted on his official Twitter handle.
Expect a modified version of Cydia to come to Electra very soon. Beta 10′s new command line tools include all but 3 of cydia’s dependencies

Going by the frequency of betas Coolstar pushes, it would be safe to assume that Cydia will be out in a day or two.
The upcoming beta versions of this tool will allow you to use Cydia like you normally do. However, there will be one major difference this time around – Substrate will not be present alongside Cydia.
Instead, Electra will utilize Comex’s Substitute, which is the only major alternative to Saurik’s Substrate.
How will this affect Saurik's jailbreak?
According to some sources, Saurik is apparently developing a new jailbreak tool for iOS 11-11.1.2.
This doesn’t seem too far-fetched because Saurik hinted a while ago that there will be 3 jailbreak tools for iOS 11.
Coolstar’s hacked-up alternative with Cydia will surely make a dent in the user base of Saurik’s jailbreak. Moreover, Saurik surely doesn’t intend to release a jailbreak anytime soon judging by his lack of enthusiasm for the present jailbreak scene.
All beta versions from now on will come bundled with the Cydia application (excluding Substrate). Here’s how you can ensure that your device stays ready beforehand –
Remove Electra toolkit and all associated jailbreak tweaks. This is, of course, optional and only for users that want a clean install of future builds and tweaks.
Download the latest version of Cydia Impactor.
