The iPhone X went up for pre-order on October 27, but some customers aim to pick up a model on launch day, after (usually) waiting in a line.

The iPhone X will officially go on sale on Friday, November 3. And while Apple has already confirmed that the flagship smartphone will be available to walk-in customers on launch day at its retail stores, along with third-party partners, that will actually not be the case for customers in Belgium and France.

As first reported by One More Thing, and subsequently independently confirmed by an unnamed source, Apple retail sites in Belgium and France will not be offering walk-in purchases, as the stores will not be able to facilitate lines in front of the stores.

The reason for this is local laws, which, in light of recent terrorist attacks, are discouraging large groups gathering in tourist locations.

As it stands, pre-orders for the iPhone X are still available. However, as is the case in most countries, the shipping date for the flagship device is between five to six weeks. However, for customers in Belgium, Apple will apparently be accepting pre-reservations for in-store pickup beginning Saturday, November 4 at 6:00 AM local time. So, if you’re in that area, one might want to be prepared for that.

A lot of people all around the globe decide to wait in a line to pick up a new iPhone, but in this case it looks like Apple’s compliance with local laws will prevent folks in at least two European countries to not have this option.
