It looks like we may be getting Apple's wireless AirPods in time for the holiday season. An official Czech Apple retailer has updated its AirPod listing with an expected December ship date.
The AirPods were unveiled at Apple's September press event as an accessory that pairs wirelessly to the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, both of which lack audio jacks. However, the AirPods missed their October release date. Apple fans have been left in the dark as to when they'll be able to grab the AirPods, with the official Apple listing saying nothing more than "currently unavailable."
The Czech retailer Alza currently has the AirPods available for preorder. The December ship was first noticed by Czech tech publication Letem Svetem Applem, giving us reason to expect a worldwide launch sometime next month. Even though Alza is an authorized Apple retailer, the AirPods are still unavailable in the Czech Apple Store.
While there's still no official word on the exact release date, a December release would make the AirPods available during the holiday shopping season. Other headphones that take advantage of Apple's W1 chip, like the Beats Solo3 and the Beats Powerbeats3, are on the market now. View our best Bluetooth headsets of 2016 here.
The AirPods will go on sale for $159/£159/AU$229.
