There have been rumors recently about an iPhone 6 battery replacement program based along the same lines as the iPhone 5 battery program that ended last year. The original program was limited to select devices that were sold during a five-month period in 2014. According to a new report, there’s not going to be an iPhone 6 battery replacement program because Apple can’t justify a reason for it.

It was first reported by a Japanese publication that Apple may soon launch an iPhone 6 battery replacement program without providing any reason for the move. Apple hasn’t said anything about such a program officially.

Citing a source inside Apple corporate, the company has been constantly evaluating service statistics and finds no ground for a wide iPhone 6 battery replacement program at this time.

What this means is that any reported issues with the iPhone 6’s battery aren’t very common to push Apple to launch a program like it did for specific units of the iPhone 5. Whatever work it has done on iPhone 6 batteries appears to fall within its limits for normal servicing.

If that really is the case, then it doesn’t look likely that Apple is going to launch an iPhone 6 battery replacement program, at least not at this point in time.
