It seems as though the Australian patent scammer Uniloc Corporation is making Apple their number one target. We have them on record suing Apple in AprilMay and early June accounting for 11 counts of patent infringement based on patents they own by assignment. In many cases they note in their court filings that they're the exclusive 'licensee' giving them the right to sue and recover past damages. Meaning they didn't invent anything, they didn't make any product, they only license patents for the sole purpose of suing companies like Apple. Their latest lawsuit against Apple was filed on Friday, making it their second lawsuit for June. This time they're suing Apple for another three counts of patent infringement using patents from DP Technologies.

The three counts against Apple for allegedly infringing DP Technology patents owned by Uniloc cover motion sensors used in Apple iDevices as noted below:

Uniloc Continues Their War Against Apple

The first count covers U.S. patent number 7,653,508. Uniloc is claiming that Apple products infringe patent claims 1-3, 6-7, and 11-12 literally and/or the doctrine of equivalents.

The second count covers U.S. patent number 8,712,723. Uniloc is claiming that Apple products infringe patent claims 1, 2, 5, 6, 10-12, and 14-17 literally and/or under the doctrine of equivalents.

The third count covers U.S. patent number 7,881,902. Uniloc is claiming that Apple products infringe patent claims 1-4.

The patent infringement case presented in today's report was filed in the Texas Eastern District Court. At present, no Judge has been assigned to this case.

The battle against patent trolls continues with a new tactic wherein they're trying to get state laws to limit 'attorney-owned' patents.
