Apple has yet to unveil what is said to be called the 'iPhone 8' or 'iPhone Edition', but rumors of its 2018 smartphone have already hit the web.
It has been revealed that Samsung could supply Apple with 80 million OLED panels for a 'new iPhone next year', which is also said to be offered in two sizes - a 5.28-inch and 6.46-inch.
Because Apple's upcoming flagship is set to launch in September, the report has led many to speculate that the deal was made for the iPhone 9.
'The two companies have recently signed a non-disclosure agreement on general conditions, including the screen size,' an industry source said in the report, which was first revealed by The Korea Herald.
However, the person familiar with the matter noted that other details including the smartphones designs and functions are 'still under development'.
If true, the iPhone 9 will surpass not just the iPhone 7s line, is also set to launch this year, which will be fitted with LCD screens.
OLED, or organic light-emitting diodes, works by putting electricity through certain materials that glow red, green and blue.
This technology allows the scene on the screen to seem more colorful, vibrant and detailed, compared to what is shown on an LCD display.
