Patiently waiting for unc0ver to add iOS 12 – iOS 12.1.2 jailbreak support? The pwn20wnd team has been steadily working behind the scenes on that and they have even teased Cydia support for iOS 12.
That’s particularly important since Cydia support in iOS 12 will allow users to easily install tweaks on their jailbroken iPhone or iPad.
Well minimal stuff works - still need to do a lot but I have a shell, Cydia works and substrate mostly works. Don’t hold your breath but it’s progressing. pic.twitter.com/bBbZO2Seoy

A public or even a beta release of unc0ver with Cydia support is still some time away. The pwn20wnd team still has to clean up CoreTrust workarounds and fix all the sandbox patches. It is only after this that they will consider releasing a pre-beta release of unc0ver 3.0 with Cydia support.
Right now, while one can jailbreak their iPhone running iOS 12 – iOS 12.1.2 using rootlessJB, the process of installing jailbreak tweaks on it is relatively complex. While this also has to do with the fact that rootlessJB is an SSH-based jailbreak for developers, the lack of Cydia support for iOS 12 is also an issue here.
Right now, unc0ver only has support for iPhones and iPads powered by A9-A11 chips. However, the team is working on adding support for A12 devices like the iPhone XS and iPhone XR as well.
A number of members from the jailbreaking community are working on an iOS 12 public jailbreak. Given the flurry of development in recent times, it is likely that we will see an iOS 12 – iOS 12.1.2 jailbreak being released to the public sooner than later.
