Every since Ian Beer released the iOS 11.3.1 kernel exploit we have been eagerly waiting for coolstar to update Electra Jailbreak to add support to jailbreak iOS 11.3.1.
There were some concerns initially as he ran into some “rootfs remount” related issues. But he has discovered some 0-day vulnerabilities in Apple File System (APFS), and seems to have managed to resolve the “rootfs remount” related issues.
The good news is that he has just confirmed that Electra Jailbreak “can fully jailbreak iOS 11.3.1”. Coolstar has also confirmed that Cydia is functional on iOS 11.3.1, so we expect iOS 11.3.1 compatible Cydia to be included in Electra iOS 11.3.1 jailbreak.
Coolstar has found another 0-day vulnerability in APFS which he hopes to save for iOS 12jailbreak, assuming Apple doesn’t patch it before it is released to the public in September.
Coolstar hasn’t provided any release date for Electra iOS 11.3.1 jailbreak, however, based on the latest update, the release seems imminent. Are you excited? Have you been eagerly waiting for the iOS 11.3.1 jailbreak?
