After the release of Electra Jailbreak for iOS 11.1.2 with Cydia, things have been quiet on the jailbreaking front. We finally have some ray of hope as a Chinese security researcher and hacker, Min Zheng aka SparkZheng has revealed that two vulnerabilities that he had discovered are still not patched in iOS 11.3.
Apple released iOS 11.3 last week with a number of new features and improvements such as the Battery Health feature, new Animojis etc.
Earlier in the week, Zheng tweeted that the 0-day bug survived in the iOS 11.3 update. He has tweeted again to reveal that a kernel bug has also not been patched in iOS 11.3. In case you’re wondering, Zheng had demoed a jailbreak for iOS 9.2.1 called the Flying JB.
The news of the exploits has sparked off speculations of an iOS 11.3 jailbreak. But it is still very early days so let us not get too excited yet. Zheng hasn’t clarified yet whether the exploits would be useful for a jailbreak yet.
Even if they can be used to develop a jailbreak for iOS 11.3, it would need someone to step up to develop the jailbreak. We doubt coolstar who released the Electra Jailbreak will work on the iOS 11.3 after the ordeal he had to face.
