According to data collected by analytics company Mixpanel, three weeks after launching to the public, iOS 11 is now installed on 47% of Apple mobile devices, overtaking iOS 10 to become the most popular, actively used iOS version.
The data shows that while iOS 11 is now the company’s most used software version, iOS 11 adoption has been much slower than iOS 10 adoption during the same timeframe last year. Last year it took Apple two weeks for iOS 10 to overtake their previous release, iOS 9, with iOS 11 only being installed on around 38% of devices last week when the software was two weeks old.
Apple has been continually adding to iOS 11, with the company rolling out 0.1, 0.2 and 0.3 updates to solve issues with the software such as a fix for iPhone 8 users who reported hearing crackling/static noise coming from the earpiece of their device during phone calls and FaceTime calls and a fix for an issue where audio and haptic feedback would not work on some iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus devices.
