Apple today rolled out minor updates to iMove and Final Cut Pro for Mac addressing certain bugs and resolving some performance and stability issues.
The update bumps iMovie’s version to 10.1.6, while Final Cut Pro X sees its version number move to 10.3.4.
Both updates are clearly about bug fixes and nothing more. The change log for them are as follows:
iMovie
Improves stability when updating libraries created with earlier versions of iMovie
Addresses an issue which could lower the volume of clips after transitions
Final Cut Pro X
Resolves a stability issue when using keyboard shortcuts to trim in Secondary Storylines
Fixes an issue in which certain editing operations could create an extra audio fade in
Fixes an issue in which the Share dialog could incorrectly display a codec warning
While there have not been any leaks, Apple is expected to announce some major updates to Final Cut Pro X at WWDC this year. The update should revolve around support for higher resolution videos, more formats, and support for 3D and VR content as hinted by the company hiring Tim Dashwood, a popular 3D and VR plugin maker for FCP.
You can grab the latest update to iMovie and Final Cut Pro from the App Store.
